Beautiful Pembrokeshire

The Golden Lion sits in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, just yards from the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and a short walk to a stunning beach.  We are blessed with glorious countryside, beautiful coastline and an abundance of wildlife.  Whether you are into kayaking, paddling, bird spotting, sailing, dolphin watching, surfing, walking, cycling... or just sitting and admiring the view... Pembrokeshire has it all.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

The beautiful environment of Pembrokeshire is carefully managed under the stewardship of The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The Park is one of the smallest of the UK’s National Parks and nowhere within it is more than 10 miles from the sea. The coastline is backed by hills, estuaries, valleys and woodlands that allow you to discover something different wherever you go.

Foot Paths

Pembrokeshire has over 600 miles of footpaths and bridleways.  This includes the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path  that covers 188 miles of truly stunning coastal scenery.

Walking in Pembrokeshire is the perfect way to discover everything the county has to offer including history, hospitality, wildlife and scenery.

Beaches

The Pembrokeshire coast boasts more Blue Flag and Green Coast beaches than any other county in the country. Some beaches are easy to reach and ideal for families, others are less accessible and offer peace and seclusion.

Most provide good swimming and many lend themselves to plenty of other activities too, such as water sports, beach games, rock pooling or just taking it easy in the sun.

Over 50 of our beaches are dog friendly all year round.

Activities

If you love the outdoors then you are going to LOVE Pembrokeshire!

There are so many things to do that we can't do justice to it here.  But here's just a few of them...  bird spotting, dolphin watching, coasteering, walking, kayaking, fishing, seal spotting, paddle boarding, surfing, cycling, swimming, rowing, climbing.  We could go on.

And of course, when the day is done, you can relax in The Golden Lion with a drink and a delicious dinner.
